The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka last night hosted the first public presentation of the final application for Rijeka as a European Capital of Culture. All the producers who were involved in the creation of the programme during the past three years were invited.

The application, cultural and artistic programme foremost, was presented by the Artistic Director Slaven Tolj, together with Ivan Šarar and Irena Kregar Šegota. During the presentation, speakers emphasized several times that the bid book is only a portion of the work still to come. By the end of the competition there is still the evaluation panel’s visit to Rijeka (and the other three Croatian candidate cities) ahead of us, along with the presentation in front of the Panel in Zagreb.

Following the last presentation and a short break after, on the same day the Panel will announce which city will carry the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2020.
