European Capital of Culture 2015, Pilsen in the Czech Republic, hosted the 23rd annual Network of European Museum Organisations conference NEMO, held between the 5th and 7th of November. The topic of the conference was “Re-visiting the Educational Value of Museums – Connecting to Audiences”.

Rijeka 2020 bid team participated at the conference along with the Croatian Museum of Tourism and the Natural History Museum Rijeka.

Apart from deepening the existing and establishing new partnerships, we wanted to discuss audience development and exchange experiences with our colleagues. Education is a well-developed field in museums, still they (we) have to work with and respond to ever-changing needs and demands from their audiences. The questions in focus included: who are they, what are their needs and how can museums better connect to them.
